KitKat is our oldest cat. Pam picked KitKat off the back deck (In De Beque, CO) in November of 2014 as a 5 week old kitten, but KitKat proved to be anti-social and became an outdoor cat the next March. Later that year KitKat appeared to have a change of heart and began coming back into the house, often staying overnight. She is now quite comfortable as an indoor cat and even allows herself to be petted on occasion.
Elmo is our middle cat. He wandered up to our house in Elma in late July of 2020 and we took him in. As a youngster he was a terror, jumping on things, climbing drapes, and even trying to play with the dogs. His mellow personality shows up when he circles our feet, wanting to be picked up and petted.
Stirling was adopted in October, 2022, from the Rifle Animal Shelter in Rifle, Colorado. Good friend Kathy Powers delivered him to me in Fairplay, Colorado, during my fall trip and I brought him back to Iowa. Stirling is a male siamese mix and is very friendly.
Vienna was adopted in October, 2022, from the Rifle Animal Shelter in Rifle, Colorado and is Stirling's sister. Kathy Powers delivered both Stirling and Vienna to me in Fairplay, Colorado, during my fall trip and I brought them back to Iowa. Vienna is a female shorthair black cat and is more reserved than Stirling.
The Trio, made up of Reese, (right) A.J. (center), and Snickers,(left) were adopted in June, 2023. One of the neighborhood cats, Frito, had the kittens and brought them to our catio where Pam found them one morning. After the kittens were weaned, Frito was spayed and the kittens became our 5th, 6th, and 7th house cats. They blended in well with the other 4 and are even friendly with KitKat.
